In Support of BC Cleantech
There’s a thriving culture of cleantech innovation in British Columbia.
Maybe it’s a function of the natural beauty of our province. Or the long legacy of scientific innovation, as represented by stalwarts like Ballard Power Systems and MacDonald Dettwiler, or recent cleantech success stories like Westport Innovations. Or the generous policy support of regional, provincial and federal governments.
For whatever reason(s), cleantech innovation is alive and well in BC. But where the province’s cleantech sector stands to see improvement is in scale and commercial traction.
We and our primary supporter, the BC Innovation Council (BCIC), believe that cleantech companies in our province would benefit from similar resources to what BCIC offers high tech companies in other industries. To that end, the Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre (or “Foresight CAC”) is pleased to offer the BCIC Venture Acceleration Program”a structured educational series designed to guide ambitious early stage technology entrepreneurs and effectively grow their technology ventures. We’re also offering a mentor program that pairs companies with talented entrepreneurs who’ve already “been there and done that”. Also in the works are ongoing expert clinics and industry brainstorm sessions that introduce our companies to large corporations and other organizations that stand to benefit from their technologies.
I’m a big believer in British Columbia. We have the raw talent, ambition, resources and government support to make a meaningful impact in the world of clean technology. If you’re a BC cleantech company, we want to hear from you. If you’re a service provider aiming to do business with BC cleantech companies, we also want to hear from you.
Join us and let’s help BC’s clean innovation industry thrive and positively impact the planet.
