Platform Calgary and Foresight Cleantech partner to Accelerate the Cleantech Industry in Western Canada
Vancouver, CANADA – October 7, 2019 — Platform Calgary and Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre announced today a partnership to bring Foresight’s cleantech-focused venture development programs to Calgary, AB this fall.
In the most recent Global Startup Ecosystem Report, Startup Genome identified Calgary as one of the top 15 cities in cleantech innovation. “Calgary’s innovation ecosystem is increasingly being known for its “Collaborate First” approach” said Terry Rock, CEO of Platform Calgary. “We’re excited to help cleantech startups take their business to the next level, and are looking forward to what we can learn through our partnership with Foresight.“
Platform Calgary’s partnership with Foresight will be a vital enabler for Alberta companies to accelerate their growth, and cement the province’s reputation as a global hub for cleantech.
“This is the start of a long term strategy to support the Alberta Cleantech Economic Ecosystem,” said Jeanette Jackson, CEO of Foresight. “This partnership is an important step in bridging the gap between BC and Alberta and positioning Canada as a global leader in cleantech”
Foresight’s Launch program is a structured venture development program that helps early-stage entrepreneurs to grow their business. The Deliver program helps SME Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) determine the optimal path forward, and fast track through the commercialization of their technologies.
