PE designs, builds, rents and sells VOLTstack® Power Stations – industrial grade, robust, clean energy alternatives to traditional gas and diesel generators that provide instant power whenever and wherever it’s needed. PE is actively providing clean energy solutions to the film, events, and construction industries in Western Canada, while rapidly integrating into new markets throughout North America and around the world. We are now searching for a Controller.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious, driven CPA to join the financial team of a cutting-edge, innovative company with considerable opportunity for growth.
The Challenge Ahead:
Our Controller will come to our team with small-mid startup experience to help build our company through significant growth stages, working alongside executive leadership and the team to create new day-to-day accounting and financial processes, optimize existing team functions, and to support current and future growth in our manufacturing based business. What the Controller will accomplish with our team:
? Develop and Implement processes and systems to enable fast and accurate GAAP compliant accounting results that integrate with budgeting systems at an operational level to empower the team with timely and actionable insights.
? Compare financial forecasts to actual financial performance on a monthly, weekly and daily basis, interpret results and variances, and give guidance on necessary course corrections, ranging from (but not limited to) supply chain and inventory to growth and investments.
? Work closely with the VP Finance and Executive Team and functional managers advising on implementation, reporting, and budgeting.
? Build efficient financial reporting process which allows the Executive team to quickly and transparently report to all stakeholders (Management, Board of Directors, Investors)
? Support business with analytics and decision making around pricing, partnerships and key contracts.
? Ensure that the company continuously remains on a sound financial footing by implementing company policies and best practices.
? Optimize internal operations such as banking, accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping, taxes, expenses, and commissions.
? Proactively identify and forecast issues or opportunities and propose solutions.
Your track record will include:
? Your reporting packages and data analysis are things of beauty and effectively communicate information needed to make fast and effective decisions at all levels of the company.
? You have prepared daily, weekly and monthly reporting packages and presentations that provide strong data points and metrics.
? You are constantly thinking of how to improve the efficiency of the team:
? Billing, reporting, payments, revenue recognition —all these can get very complex in a fast-growing business.
? You can demonstrate how you effectively automated your organization to increase productivity and reduce errors.
? You have experience identifying, acquiring and implementing systems to provide critical
? financial and operational information.
? You can provide examples of how you made an impact on a company by providing a business case for changes in pricing and packaging, up-sells, introduction of new products, new markets, acquisitions, etc.
? You are someone who leads by example and is willing to work in the trenches while balancing your time and priorities so you are also able to work on strategic initiatives.
? You want to work at a fast-paced start-up and contribute to building a dynamic and sustainable culture at work.
