Securing funding is one of the biggest hurdles that cleantech startups face.

Foresight’s Investor Readiness, supported by IRAP, is a free, four-part workshop series that prepares Canadian cleantech companies for investment and growth. It is part of our Access to Capital program, where Foresight matches ventures that are actively raising with the most relevant cleantech investors. Apply here.

What to Expect

Over the course of four sessions, participants will gain the tools, basic understanding, and confidence to develop, deliver on, and effectively communicate their plan to undertake a seed capital raise, including:

  • Business and financial plans
  • Negotiations and valuation
  • Identifying the different investor types
  • Navigating incentives and expectations
  • Creating advisory boards
  • Understanding exit strategies

The program is taught by experts with lived experience as both entrepreneurs and investors. Within the sessions, they share lessons learned and help you interpret and better understand investors, including what they really mean when they tell you, "you are too early.”

"This program not only taught me about all the work and due diligence that has to be done before speaking to investors, but also gave me access to highly experienced and accomplished mentors who have walked the walk that I'm about to embark on... They provided me with all the tools I needed for fundraising and gave me more confidence in my ability to raise money."
