Vancouver, BC (March 29, 2022) - Foresight Canada is excited to announce that Ontario-based MTechHub has been selected as the winner of our SDG Connect Carbon Tracing and Tracking Challenge, in partnership with Exxaro Resources Limited, with support from the Trade Commissioner Service and High Commission of Canada to South Africa.
Exxaro Resources Limited is among the top five coal producers in South Africa. Since 2006, Exxaro gained a reputation for being the largest black-empowered diversified mining company.
About the Challenge
Through this Challenge, Exxaro is seeking a clearer picture of all carbon emissions in operations, to manage the data feed of inputs, integrity, traceability, and auditability of carbon emissions, and to understand the potential to offset their carbon emissions.
Understanding the origin of emissions will ensure that Exxaro Resources is properly equipped to reduce its carbon footprint and combat climate change.
After evaluations and a series of pitch sessions from applicants, Exxaro Resources chose MTechHub Innovations as the winner of the Carbon Tracing and Tracking Challenge. MTechHub will progress along Exxaro's supply chain process.
About the Solution
MTechHub’s made-in-Canada GHG reporting solution digitizes the real time collection of emissions data. It can be retrofitted to existing equipment and business processes, and it uses a comprehensive approach to track emissions.
