Skaha Remote Sensing is developing sensor technology that can measure soil moisture remotely over large areas. This technology is being used in agriculture where the sensor in mounted on a UAV and is used to map moisture of top soil over entire crop fields. Existing soil moisture sensors provide only spot measurements of humidity in very localized areas, or can only be deployedÂ on bare fields without vegetation.
