As the Vice President of Vancity Community Investment Bank (VCIB), Jennifer Hutcheon leads the development and implementation of the bank’s growth strategy in the areas of commercial and business banking, social purpose real estate, and climate finance.
Jennifer has over 23 years of extensive banking and financial leadership experience and prior to joining VCIB, she was the Vice President, Loan Operations and Customer Relations at Infrastructure Ontario where she oversaw the loan administration, business development, and grant management activities associated with the Infrastructure Ontario loan program.
Jennifer has honed her loan portfolio management and commercial-lending expertise through the years in previous roles at Equitable Bank, Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company, and Northern Birch Credit Union. Leading the team at VCIB, Jennifer is driven by the belief that what you finance has a huge impact on our planet and communities.
Conor T. Chell, Head of ESG Practice Group, MLT Aikins.
Motivated by his family’s history and deep roots in the Canadian coal mining industry, Conor’s personal and professional goal is to live life with purpose and lead broad positive change. Prior to joining MLT Aikins, Conor spent several years as an environmental and regulatory lawyer at a national law firm. More recently, he spent over a decade with Suncor Energy in various senior sustainability roles which involved reporting on environmental and sustainability matters to Suncor’s Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability Subcommittee of the Board of Directors.
At MLT Aikins, Conor leads a collaborative, cross-functional and multi-disciplinary team of sustainability professionals who advise clients on ESG strategy and program development, ESG activism and disclosure risks, and ESG policy development and training. Conor holds a Global Competent Boards Designation (GCB.D) in ESG, a Certificate in Sustainable Finance and ESG from UC Berkeley School of Law and has been named a Top 40 Lawyer in Canada under the age of 40 by Lexis/Nexis. Conor has been named a Canadian Environmental Thought Leader by Mondaq, speaks frequently across North America on ESG topics and has been featured in the Globe and Mail, Financial Post, Canadian Lawyer, the Canadian Bar Association’s National Magazine, the Daily Oil Bulletin, Investment Executive, Advisor’s Edge and Lexis/Nexis.
