CMPC, one of the biggest worldwide pulp and paper companies with 54 industrial plants and a global presence in 12 countries, is seeking innovative solutions to determine the amount of water that forest species consume from the seedling stage to the age at which the trees are harvested in the new Smart Forest Solutions Challenge in partnership with Foresight Canada.

Successful solutions should:

• Accurately measure water use across species

• Consider climate conditions to recommend irrigation

• Utilize remote tools like sensors, drones, or satellites

•  Be capable of data connectivity through cloud-based systems.
