Foresight’s amazing alumni have been busy this month, securing new investments and opening new facilities. These incredible achievements will allow them to expand their operations, deploy their technologies more effectively, and drive Canada – and the world – toward a net zero future.
Here are a few of the ecosystem highlights:
Several Foresight alumni are among the companies that received a total of $7 million from the Province’s Innovative Clean Energy Fund.
Victoria-based Open Ocean Robotics received $1.75 million to develop solar-powered, uncrewed surface vehicles with sensors, cameras, and communication devices that can capture information from anywhere in the ocean and relay it to researchers instantly.
Summit Nanotech announced the opening of a facility in Santiago, Chile, which will offer additional capacity for the scale-up of their direct lithium extraction technology and improved services to lithium mining customers.
To date, our network of 1,000+ Foresight-supported ventures have raised $1.3+ billion in capital, generated $390+ million in revenue, and created 7,150+ high-paying jobs. In total, the economic impact of our alumni companies is more than $2 billion.
We are inspired by the contributions our alumni companies are making to Canada’s transition to a net zero economy, and we are so excited to see what comes next for these innovators.
