Foresight’s amazing alumni have been busy this month, securing new investments and opening new facilities. These incredible achievements will allow them to expand their operations, deploy their technologies more effectively, and drive Canada – and the world – toward a net zero future.
Here are a few of the ecosystem highlights:
Evoco Ltd. has successfully raised $12 million in Series B funding to expand their materials innovation, global reach, and market awareness.
Several Foresight alumni are among the companies that received a total of $7 million from the Province’s Innovative Clean Energy Fund.
agriNEXT company, Theory Mesh, received $1.28 million in funding support from the Canadian Food Innovation Network.
ChopValue recently announced two key milestones: transforming its 100 millionth chopstick into sustainable new products and closing a $7.7 million funding round.
Victoria-based Open Ocean Robotics received $1.75 million to develop solar-powered, uncrewed surface vehicles with sensors, cameras, and communication devices that can capture information from anywhere in the ocean and relay it to researchers instantly.
Peak Power announced it has received $200 million in project financing and development capital to support the accelerated deployment and offer turnkey financing for energy storage projects.
Several Foresight alumni companies were included in Sustainable Development Technology Canada’s latest funding round, receiving between $50,000 - $100,000 each, including:
Summit Nanotech announced the opening of a facility in Santiago, Chile, which will offer additional capacity for the scale-up of their direct lithium extraction technology and improved services to lithium mining customers.
