Foresight Announces Circular Bioeconomy Reverse Pitch Challenge

An official side event of the World Circular Economy Forum aimed at finding the next generation of circular bioeconomy solutions to real-world sustainability challenges.

Vancouver, CANADA – December 1, 2020 — Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre announced today the full slate of activities for its groundbreaking Bioeconomy Reverse Pitch Challenge, an official World Circular Economy Forum Online side event happening December 3 & 4, 2020. 

Fueled by a projected C$240 billion bioeconomy opportunity in Canada by 2030, and sponsored by Natural Resources Canada’s Canadian Forest Service (NRCan-CFS), the event is focused on providing opportunities and making connections for innovators with circular bioeconomy solutions across the automotive, construction and packaging value chains. 


Companies Seeking Sustainable BioProducts Solutions

The following companies are looking for bioproduct solutions and will present their pitches at the event:

  • Ford Motor Company - Improving the sustainable content in automotive plastics
  • Suzano - Exploring sustainable barrier coatings for flexible paper packaging
  • Lafarge Canada - Seeking bio-based alternatives with cementitious properties

Investors Seeking Investment - Ready Companies with Bioeconomy Solutions

The event includes an Investors Panel with speakers from Pangaea Ventures, Fort Capital, Closed Loop Partners, and Silicon Valley Bank. Innovators with solutions and projects will hear first hand about tips for successful financing and making meaningful connections.
