The Foresight 50, recognizing Canada’s most investable cleantech ventures, is an important pan-Canada initiative that is made possible by the support of our partners. Foresight would also like to thank the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) for providing funding support for its Cleantech Ventures program, part of which made this event possible. We are pleased to share their comments about the Foresight 50.
For nearly 75 years NRC IRAP has been contributing to the creation of wealth in Canada through technological innovation. This has been accomplished by providing a wide range of technical and business advisory services, as well as financial support, to innovative Canadian small-and medium sized enterprises to help build their innovation capacity and successfully bring their products and services to market.
Foresight plays an important role in helping to develop and grow the clean tech ecosystem in Canada. Through Foresight, NRC IRAP has supported a number of programs, including:
- Deliver — skill training for cleantech executives;
- waterNEXT — a national platform to support watertech SMEs’s growth and commercialization both domestically and internationally;
- and most recently the Access to Capital For Cleachtech Ventures.
Through this new Access to Capital program , we would like to see Canada become a magnate and hub for global cleantech investment and a world leader in cleantech innovation and commercialization. As part of this program, and thanks to the hard work of Foresight and its partners, 50 of the most investable cleantech SMEs have been selected.
