It’s officially summer, and things are heating up for our network of 1,000+ companies. From securing funding and new partnerships to receiving awards and breaking ground on new projects, Foresight’s alumni have been busy moving Canada toward a net zero future. 

Here are a few of the highlights: 

Funding

Nine BC clean energy innovators secured a total of $5.2 million in funding to propel a carbon-negative future, including Foresight alumni: 

Several companies have been recognized in BC Tech’s 2023 Impact Awards including: 

  • Origen Air, which has won the Company of the Year award;
  • Audette, which has won the Climate Leadership awards; and
  • Foresight 50 honouree Svante, which has won the Climate Leadership award

Korotu Technology has been selected by WWF-Canada as a $100,000 award recipient in the Nature x Carbon Tech Challenge.

TerraFixing and Takachar have been awarded funding from Klarna for their work in developing innovative climate solutions for carbon removal. 

Picketa Systems has raised $1.4 million in seed funding led by New Brunswick Innovation Foundation.

Partnerships and Awards

Audette partnered with the Building Owners and Managers Association of BC on a pilot to provide a scalable approach to carbon management within commercial buildings.

Earth Tech alumni ALT TEX has won a Global Change Award, recognizing companies that are making an impact on the textile industry.

Reusables has partnered with Uber Eats to launch a sustainable packaging pilot program in Vancouver and Toronto.

Recap

To date, our network of 1,000+ Foresight-supported ventures have raised $1.3+ billion in capital, generated $390+ million in revenue, and created 7,150+ high-paying jobs. In total, the economic impact of our alumni companies is more than $2 billion. 

We are inspired by the contributions our alumni companies are making to Canada’s transition to a net zero economy, and we are so excited to see what comes next for these innovators.
