Cleantech Adoption Is the Future for Canadian Industries, and BC Innovators Are Driving This Transition

From the forest bioeconomy to mining and water treatment to transportation, cleantech is driving change in every sector across Canada. In BC, innovators are paving the way with forward-thinking solutions to enhance productivity and drive economic growth.

Through our British Columbia Net Zero Innovation Network (BCNZIN), we had the opportunity to meet with three BC-based ventures—Fuse Power Management, Rohe Homes, and Tersa Earth—to learn more about their groundbreaking technology, hear their vision for the province’s future, and document their impact. These companies are addressing some of BC’s most pressing challenges, from water and wastewater management to the environmental toll of transportation and housing insecurity, while contributing to a sustainable future economy grounded in enhanced Canadian productivity and the circular economy.

This new video series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration, innovation, and ambition driving these ventures—and why their work matters for the future of BC’s clean economy.

Fuse Power Management

Meet the company turning EV fleets into smart, mobile power plants. Imagine your electric vehicles not just getting you from A to B, but also helping to power the grid and cut down on emissions—that's the vision of this innovative company. Fuse brings together the best minds and technology in the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) space, demonstrating that EVs can be a clean, reliable, and even profitable source of energy. By developing intelligent infrastructure, they’re showing North America how to accelerate the shift to zero-emission electricity and revolutionize both transportation and the power grid.

Rohe Homes

Rohe Homes is revolutionizing home building with their clever, foldable, and modular designs. Imagine a home that can be easily transported and set up in just a day! This BC-based company is tackling housing insecurity by creating homes that are not only quick to assemble but also cost-effective and adaptable. Whether it's a laneway home in the city or housing for a remote community, Rohe Homes is making quality, sustainable living more accessible than ever.

Tersa Earth

Meet the brilliant minds at Tersa Earth, a woman-led venture shaking up the mining world. Imagine turning mining waste into a valuable resource while also cleaning up wastewater—that's exactly what they're doing. Embracing the biopower of bacteria, their technology tackles Acid Rock Drainage, neutralizing  mine wastewater and recovering valuable metals that were previously lost. Using their own self-powered units that can be scaled up or down as needed, they're making it easier and more affordable for mines to operate sustainably and eventually close down responsibly, all while creating a cleaner future.

All three videos were filmed and produced by Transient Films through the British Net Zero Innovation Network (BCNCIN). BCNZIN is supported by Pacific Economic Development Canada and the Province of British Columbia.
