Barbara is a change make, disruptor, innovator and entrepreneur. She has over 30 years’ experience in leadership, entrepreneurship and corporate growth, strategic disruption and investment. As a CEO she has seen it all and done it all, or at least it feels that way. Leading organizations through growth and challenging times including a pandemic. She has built multiple corporate start ups from the ground up, ensuring systems were in place to accommodate scale and growth, while building pathways to revenue, generating $300M across multiple revenue channels in various organizations. She has led several of her own successful entrepreneurial ventures over her 30 plus year career and recently returned to entrepreneurship as the CEO and Founder of Ignition CEO. She is also currently the Managing Director of DB McKenzie Group and the Executive Director of the Global Chamber, Alberta Chapter.

Barbara is known for her innovative thinking, with a passion for disruption and a deep passion for community. She has been involved in technology and innovation, economic development, banking, social enterprise, justice, investment and pensions sectors throughout her career, focusing on corporate change management as well as start up and scaling ventures. As an investor, she knows what it takes for a scaling venture to bring in money and her IgnitionCEO practice focuses on building the systems and leadership skills businesses need to scale, gain sales and revenue traction and attract investment.

Barbara has an Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and a Diploma in Marketing from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. She holds several certifications in corporate governance, project management, economic development and more.
