Steph is a passionate entrepreneurial leader who has lived through incredible experiences across diverse endeavors. He shows up and brings his full spirit to everything he engages in and finds ways to bring value from the real-world lessons he’s earned along the way.

He’s more proud of his family and homestead above any professional accomplishment he’s earned. He and his wife of over 10 years are raising three unique, beautiful children. You may hear him complain that they’ve got too many animals, and too many activities, but that’s just how the Pattyn family rolls. He coaches all sport teams and applies himself to developing the younger generation in his community.

After a decade-long trip through entrepreneurship where Steph owned and managed a total of 11 companies and diverse real estate holdings with many successful peaks  and the deepest valleys, he leverages his experiences to support other entrepreneurs in various domains. Most of his work has been in creating and managing programs for innovation in Manitoba and emerging as one of the key contributors to the ecosystem.

An honest generalist, he has key experience and interest in high-efficiency construction and real estate, infrastructure and energy, agriculture, and technology. Business and entrepreneurship are Steph’s second love after his family and home. He balances his mind, body, and Spirit through exercise, meditation, and spending as much time in the bush as possible.

Steph never takes the approach of having all of the answers. He’s learned to be grateful for a seat at the table, listening to those who are facing the problems head on, and propose solutions or partnerships that are directly valuable to the plan. He always presents a collaborative approach to successful outcomes, another lesson he applies whenever he can.

The responsibility of Director for Foresight’s mission to support the province of Manitoba towards the 2050 Net Zero targets is an exciting opportunity for Steph to create collaboration among partners and support entrepreneurs daring to contribute to that shared mission. He looks forward to working with First Nation governments, the Manitoba government, municipal governments, industry leaders, ecosystem organizations, and ventures to move Manitoba forward on a cleaner and healthier path.
