As we gear up for the 2025 Canada Cleantech Awards, we reflect on the transformative role innovation plays in driving sustainability and economic growth. Past award winners have led the way in emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and environmental stewardship—while driving job creation and economic prosperity. Their success proves that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand, with industry and innovation shaping a cleaner, more prosperous future.
Let’s take a look at how past award recipients in British Columbia, Alberta, and Atlantic Canada continue to make an impact.
British Columbia
British Columbia remains at the forefront of cleantech innovation, home to over 492 cleantech companies. Seven BC-based companies were recognized on the prestigious 2024 Global Cleantech 100 list, while 25 were featured on the 2024 Foresight 50 list, which highlights Canada’s most investable cleantech ventures. With strong support from ecosystem leaders and industry champions, BC’s cleantech sector demonstrates that innovation fuels economic growth, productivity, and job creation—all while driving sustainability forward.
Since 2020, the BC Cleantech Awards have celebrated visionaries driving this progress, highlighting the province’s growing influence in building Canada's future economy.
