Award Categories
The Canadian Cleantech Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals, companies, and organizations driving innovation, sustainability, and economic growth in Canada’s cleantech sector.
Whether they are scaling world-class solutions, championing ecosystem growth, or adopting sustainable practices, each nominee is helping shape a thriving, net zero future. Explore the categories below to find the right fit for your nomination.
Venture of the Year: Startup
An emerging cleantech venture actively growing and already creating impact in their field (suggested TRL 1-6).
Venture of the Year: Scaleup
A cleantech venture positioned to take a leadership role on the global innovation stage (suggested TRL 7-9).
Adopter of the Year
A leading organization, company, or group adopting or championing sustainable practices in their industry.
Cleantech Supporter of the Year
An organization or individual championing climate-focused entrepreneurs, programs, ecosystem development, thought leadership, and community building.
Funder of the Year
A funder, investor, government program, or VC championing a net zero economy by investing in cleantech ventures.
In-Person Celebrations
The in-person Cleantech Awards are more than just an awards ceremony—they are an opportunity to build connections, exchange ideas, and foster meaningful partnerships within Canada’s dynamic cleantech ecosystems. Nomination & Judging Process
Nominations for the 2025 Canada Cleantech Awards open on January 13, 2025, for all three regions—British Columbia, Alberta, and Atlantic Canada (PE, NS, NB, NL). Self-nominations are welcome.

Green Manganese
Green Manganese has developed an environmentally friendly, closed-loop process using a water-based chloride solution to extract manganese, drastically reducing CO2 emissions and eliminating harmful waste compared to conventional methods.
