British Columbia is ripe with stunning natural resources, international business pipelines, diverse communities, and an ecosystem of innovators, industry leaders, and advocates who are pushing the province towards its ambitious climate targets.
To support these goals and leverage BC’s robust resources, Foresight’s BC Net Zero Innovation Network (BCNZIN) is launching a Call for Solutions in search of cleantech innovators who have the tools to accelerate BC’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
The Opportunity:
The BCNZIN Call for Solutions is designed to support projects that have the power to reduce emissions and bring partners together to strengthen the provincial cleantech ecosystem and accelerate the path to net zero.
Selected innovators will have their projects funded up to 50 per cent and will work directly with the BCNZIN team to carry out their vision and measure its success.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re on the hunt for the best and brightest climate innovators with powerful cleantech solutions within four key sectors: water, transportation, mining, and forest bioeconomy. Each of these sectors has its own unique challenges, and Foresight’s BCNZIN has set its sights on finding solutions to the major sustainability barriers facing each industry.
Water
To address water treatment and distribution emissions, BCNZIN is seeking solutions that decrease municipal and industrial water loss by 10% or less through sustainable water solutions.
Transportation
To transition the BC transportation sector to low-carbon, BCNZIN is seeking solutions that decrease transportation-related emissions by 50%.
Mining
BCNZIN is seeking solutions that will connect 100% of active BC mines to clean energy systems.
Forest Bioeconomy
BCNZIN is seeking solutions that lead to a competitive, valuable, and net zero forest sector through increased revenues generated through wildfire resiliency, sustainable value-add manufacturing and net zero operations by more than 20%.
