The Circular Economy Opportunity

By enhancing measurement techniques, CMPC aimed to optimize operations across the supply chain. Accurate assessments of moisture and density would refine harvesting and transport practices, reduce waste, and support sustainability efforts, contributing to a more efficient circular economy in pulp and paper production.

Evaluation & Eligibility

To have been considered, applicants must have met the following criteria:

    • Have a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 7 or higher.
    • Present a feasible, easy-to-apply technology.
    • Have experience in the forestry industry and be open to piloting in CMPC's forests.
    • Conduct a field pilot with an error margin of less than 5% compared to traditional measurement techniques.

Venture Opportunities

Winners and shortlisted applicants had the opportunity to showcase their technology and engage with CMPC. Specifically:

  • Shortlisted applicants presented their technology to CMPC;
  • The winning solution had the opportunity to present a pilot proposal to CMPC, with the potential to scale across all CMPC productions.
