Calgary's Trailblazers in Ethylene, Pulp, and Carbon - Panel and Networking Event

Join Foresight in partnership with Innovate Calgary for a panel discussion and networking event focused on how local innovators redefine traditional industries! This event is the perfect opportunity for anyone working or interested in the bioeconomy, cleantech, or startup space to gather and share ideas and opportunities with like-minded individuals in academia, industry, SMEs, and more.

Our panel discussion will include presentations from three local innovators discussing their new, sustainable methods of producing essential materials using waste and reducing emissions. Attendees will have the chance to engage with the panelists in a Q&A as well as discuss opportunities to collaborate and network with other academics, innovators, and industry professionals in attendance.

bioNEXT is supported by GenomeBC and the Government of Canada through the Investments in Forest Industry Transformation (IFIT) program.

Our Panelists

Ondra Maseja, HEJMAS Agrifibre Technologies

HEJMAS Agrifibre Technologies makes the highest grade pulp from agricultural crop waste, instead of trees.  Our PATENTED process allows us to make manufacturing industry specification pulp, using 80% less water, 70% less power and time, emitting 88% less CO2, all without harsh sulphide / chloride chemistry.  Our pulp is also as much as 70% lower cost to our manufacturing partners and customers.  Sustainable, environmentally friendly & economical.

Paul Horton & Daniel Ronald, Infinite Carbon

Infinite Carbon Corporation (ICC) transforms underutilized forestry products into top-tier carbon materials for a variety of industries through advanced pyrolysis. Committed to assisting businesses in sustainable practices and reducing emissions, we offer impactful solutions for a cleaner future.

Shariful Nabil & Md Kibria, C-Zero Inc

Our technology can convert any industrial off-gas or flue gas (e.g.,10-20 volume% CO2) into ethylene - which is the most widely used petrochemical in the world. The key competitive advantage of our technology is that it can bypass intermediate steps of incumbent CO2 conversion processes. Our mission is to avoid 1 million tons (Mt) of annual emissions to produce ~0.4 Mt of C2H4 by 2030.
