Alex Kent, Director, Distribution & Grid Modernization at Electricity Canada

Alex is Electricity Canada’s director of distribution and regulatory affairs. Alex works closely with executives from throughout the Electricity Canada membership. His portfolio encompasses economic regulation and advocacy for advances demanded by net zero as well as technical aspects such as metering and telecommunications. He has represented Electricity Canada before the Senate as well as the Canadian Radio-Television & Telecommunications Commission. Before working at Electricity Canada Alex held roles at the Canadian Geothermal Energy Association, the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, and CH2M (now Jacobs).

Bradley Nickel, Business Opportunity Specialist, EQUS REA LTD.

Brad is an engineer who enjoys talking to people. Over the years, he’s worked in asset management and the design of high-voltage power lines, but he has also gained experience working in internal audit. His current role is a policy advisor in government relations. Before working in utilities, Brad spent a couple of summers walking around the bush in northern Saskatchewan prospecting for Uranium. He believes the simplest solutions are the best.
