David Ing is a technology business executive with extensive academic research and teaching experience. His 28-year career with IBM included assignments in management consulting, market development and headquarters planning. After graduating from IBM, he led an IBM Business Partner in healthcare technology services with operations in Canada and Jamaica.

In a small organization experience, David is a corporate director in a family business originating in Gravenhurst, Ontario in 1961. In the systems thinking community, David was president of the International Society for the Systems Sciences, 2011-2012. He has taught in graduate school programs worldwide (Finland, China, Japan, UK), as well as OCADU, UToronto and York U. Towards completing a Ph.D. the book “Open Innovation Learning: Theory-building on open sourcing while private sourcing” was published in 2017-2018. David has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern U., and a B. Comm. from U. Toronto.
