Kathrin Bussmann, Ph.D. is the Head of Verbaccino Inc., the independent marketing consultancy for Cleantech companies going global. Her mission is to empower Cleantech companies to expand internationally in a smart, strategic way. The climate crisis requires globally-scalable solutions.

Green technologies need to be promoted and deployed successfully across languages, borders and cultures. Working at the intersection of global business, international marketing, and localization, Kathrin advises companies on digital content strategies that drive business OKRs in new markets, and on the implementation of those strategies by qualified practitioners.

As German-Canadian dual citizen born in the province of Québec, Kathrin grew up equally fluent in German, French, and English. She holds degrees in Communication Studies and Linguistics, and launched her own consultancy in 2014. As a parent, she is increasingly concerned about the future of our planet. That’s why, in 2021, she re-positioned her consultancy to serve the Cleantech sector.

In addition to her consulting practice, Kathrin produces and hosts The Worldly Marketer Podcast, an award-winning show that explores what it takes to grow a global brand in today’s digital, social, multilingual marketplace. To date, she has interviewed over 230 thought leaders in the areas of global business, global marketing, and localization.

Kathrin is a member of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), The Global Chamber, Soft Land Partners, Women and Cleantech and Sustainability, the ToFu community of climate tech marketers, and she is a Co-Founder & Leadership Team member of Women in Localization Eastern Canada chapter (WLEC). She is based in Toronto, Canada.
