My new venture, 20GS Low Carbon Consultancy and Advisory, draws upon decades of experience in commercializing cleantech and the development of renewable projects for the benefit of a wide variety of clients from start-ups and operating companies to financiers and investors.

I have worked within conventional and renewable energy, advanced biofuels industries, and waste and water infrastructure industries. Over the past 40 years held key executive roles in privately held and publicly traded ‘clean’ energy companies. Prior to starting 20GS, I was the co-founder, CEO and director of Steeper Energy Aps (DK).

I have assisted a number of energy and oil companies as well as service, manufacturing, and energy technology development firms. During the 1990s, with TransAlta Corporation, I led the development of one of North America’s largest municipal solid waste to compost projects and in 1997, with Energy Developments Pty. Ltd., I developed biomass thermal gasification and waste biomass-to-energy projects in Australia and the United Kingdom. In 2003, with Calgary’s ENMAX, I brought the parties together to sign a 20-year wind off-take agreement that led to the development and construction of the, then-largest wind project in Southern Alberta.

In 2005 I led the North American operations of the Australian-based ABC Bio-diesel Pty. Ltd. and then formed Licella Pty. Ltd. with former ABC colleagues eventually leading to the 2011 creation of Steeper Energy ApS (DK) to exploit Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to advanced low-carbon transport fuels and fine chemicals.

Over the course of my career, I have led the development of many one-of-a-kind infrastructure projects and technology demonstrations as well as business development across North America, SE Asia, Australasia and Europe. In the 1990’s I developed carbon-offset projects in India, China, and South America and carbon sequestration projects in North America.
