Montréal, QC, May 7th, 2019 – CanadaCleantech Alliance is delighted to welcome two new Board members, Jeanette Jackson, Managing Director at Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre, representing British Columbia, and Peter McArthur, Chair of Ontario Clean Technology Industry Association (OCTIA) to represent Ontario. They joined Jason Switzer, Executive Director of Alberta Clean Technology Industry Association (ACTIA), representing Alberta, and the current Chair, Denis Leclerc, CEO of Écotech Québec, representing Québec.

The new Board members bring a wealth of experience in the following areas: tech start-ups/scale-ups, business development, marketing and operations, cleantech finance, angel investing and venture capital. This set of expertise will strengthen CanadaCleantech in its mission supporting Canadian cleantech businesses to innovate, grow and export so that they can create good quality jobs and wealth for Canadians.

Recognized as the national voice of the cleantech sector, CanadaCleantech’s network now extends to 22 provincial and territorial organizations. Thanks to this pan-Canadian network, CanadaCleantech enables cross- regional collaborations and leverages provincial and territorial strengths to support entrepreneurs across the country.

CanadaCleantech’s action plan is built around four strategic pillars:

  • FEDERATE – CanadaCleantech brings together start-ups, companies, institutions and organizations producing, implementing or supporting the development and use of cleantech with the goal to create synergies and share knowledge.
  • CREATE OPPORTUNITIES – CanadaCleantech supports cleantech businesses ventures scaling-up to successful commercialization, by increasing access to domestic and international markets, capital and talents.
  • ADVISE – CanadaCleantech provides expert advice focused on supporting cleantech companies and moving toward a greener and stronger economy in Canada. One of CanadaCleantech’s objectives is to reduce barriers to innovation and cleantech adoption.
  • BRAND – To position Canada as a leader in the global race for cleantech entrepreneurship, talent and capital, CanadaCleantech promotes cleantech as concrete and tangible solutions that support governments, corporations and institutions in reaching their environmental targets.

CanadaCleantech 2019-2020 activities encompass international and national market-pull challenges matching organizations with tech end environmental needs with Canadian cleantech solutions (CONNECT Challenges), international buyer incoming missions and the development of a digital platform to position Canadian cleantech around the world.
